CROSSFIRE!

well i tried for the second time to see whats up with vista! i installed it and found that it with only work if i start pc on second card with crossfire cable unpluged. well i would love to test this on this rig but i think that microsoft forgot about us serius gamers, if ya really want to test a OS make sure you remember all of us not just mainsteam pcs guys. i tried the new drivers from ati but they do not work either. come on ms please let us test too. i refuse to remove one card to test and let one not work at all, kind of a waste of money dont ya think? -- A8R32 MVP DELUXE FX-60 4 GIGS CRUCIAL 4 10,000 RPM RAPTORS STRIPE-0 32 CLUTER SIZE CREATIVE FX KOOLANCE WATER TOWER CPU,VIDS,CHIPSETS WATER COOLED 600 WATT ANTEC CROSSFIRE PS WIN XP PRO

Hi, MS aren't responsible for producing crossfire drivers, ATI are. As of yet their beta drivers don't support it. Also you need to remember that Vista is in beta form.... ChrisC "DALE MCCONNELL" wrote in message

So try the XP drivers then? May need to use xp sp2 compatibility mode and standard vga first.
What was the point of posting specs when you forgot the make and model of your display adapters...

I just spoke with Terry Makedon about this, and serious games should not take Vista Beta as a serious gaming operating system yet. Catalyst drivers for Vista b2 lack of features like crossfire and openGl support, which forbid using 2 cards in Xfire configuration and playing DooM3-like games. Please understand that ATI's main goal for this release is having working drivers. They "just work" and you can expect a 40-80% of XP performances (framerate) running games in Vista. Optimization will be a second time effort, and drivers will improve significantly when Vista will be realeased, not before.
Alternatively, you can go www.ati.com and apply for a driver development job, maybe you can help'em gaining results you like.
